Are you between the ages of 16 and 25 and passionate about mental health advocacy? If so, Burnie Works has an exciting opportunity for you to make your voice heard!

What’s Happening?

Burnie Works, in collaboration with Youth, Family and Community Connections, is hosting a Youth Mental Health Workshop. This event is a call to action for young people to share their experiences with the mental health system and to brainstorm ways to improve it.

Why Your Voice Matters

Mental health is a journey that looks different for everyone, and too often, the voices of young people are left out of the conversations that shape the services they use. This workshop is your chance to change that narrative and contribute to a plan that will be presented to the decision-makers in our community.

A Safe Space to Express Yourself

We understand that talking about mental health can be tough, which is why this workshop is designed to be a safe, creative, and fun environment. You won’t be put on the spot to share anything you’re not comfortable with. Instead, we’ll use creative tools to facilitate the discussion, ensuring everyone can contribute in a way that feels right for them.

  • When: Monday, 20 November, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm

Let’s Make a Difference Together

The insights gathered from this workshop will be invaluable in a follow-up event later in November, which will include a broader range of community members and service providers. This is your chance to lay the groundwork for a mental health system that truly understands and meets the needs of its youth.
