People are reporting they are receiving text messages saying they have missed a call, usually from an unknown number, and are then presented with a link.

It works like this: You have 1 new Voicemail(s) or similar ‘missed message’ reference. The SMS will state you have a new voicemail message and provide a link to a malicious website.

  • Do not to click on the link.
  • Clicking on the link will attempt to install Android malware on your mobile device, if the mobile device permits installation from outside trusted locations (such as Google Play Store).
  • The link is unique for each recipient and SMS. They are hard to block as they are coming from legitimate handsets and devices from all over the world.I
  • f you have clicked on a link, download a popular anti-virus for Android which should clear it up.
